Arla farmer owner Arthur Fearnall said: "As a member of the Arla board of representatives I know first-hand how the decisions we make are designed to get the best possible deal for dairy farmers like me. Having the cameras on my farm, to offer a 'behind the scenes' look at how a dairy farm operates was a really exciting day for all involved.
Arthur Fearnall is an 8th generation farmer who is hopeful that his son continues the family tradition. The farm is based at Pulford near Chester and he has been selling his milk in to Arla for over 20 years and became an Arla farmer-owner in 2014. Arthur is on the Arla Foods Board of Representatives.
Ash Amirahmadi, CUK's vice-president of milk and member services, said: "Following the very successful launch of our farmer-owned marque in August, we wanted our farmer owners to explain in their own words, how they benefit from being part of a dairy cooperative. It's great for colleagues and the public to be able to connect with the very farmers supplying their milk and dairy products, and helps them understand how the farmers own the business and the profits are distributed equally amongst them."
