Meet our farmers

Our 3,000 farmers in the UK are owners of the business, through the cooperative model, and direct suppliers.

Barbara Hughes

Lizzie Miles

Lizzie Miles

Lizzie is passionate about breeding and works alongside her father and uncle looking after a herd of130 Holstein milkers, 150 followers and 350 breeding ewes at Little Bridge Farm in Ellerbeck.  Lizzie follows a family tradition of showing livestock and when she is not milking she is attending agricultural shows across Britain with her prize winning cows.

James Thompson

James Thompson

James is managing director at Sansaw Estate, near Shrewsbury and farms a large country estate with over 1,000 cows with plans to increase the herd in the future.  James runs his business on a New Zealand management system and has invested heavily in the farm, to ensure that his cows are well looked after.  The choice to supply milk to Arla was an easy one because of the growth opportunities with the global cooperative and Arla’s expertise in adding value to milk.
